INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CHANGES
Internal changes are caused by design
evolution or scope growth. External changes come
from scope deviations, supplier performance issues, impacts of other parties and
items not defined in the original contracts.
Controlling change and
growth in all areas is critical to a successful project
execution.
The Environment - Project Manager keeps all project members connected via a common database.
How Changes Enter A Project ::
RFIs: Experience shows us that more than 20% of RFI's generate new work from contract gaps or scope growth.
Internal Variances: (VNs & NCRs) enter the project from Owners, Architects, and Engineers as designs evolve.
Suppliers: problems arise with equipment quality (BCNs) and late delivery
External Variances: (VN & FCR) unanticipated site or labor conditions, schedule changes, and impacts from other contractors
